FILO Greek Bistro

  ul. Św. Tomasza 30 ,   Old Town          (+48) 662 74 20 38     more than a year ago
A welcome addition to a city with a dearth of good Greek restaurants, FILO also pays nice, if unnecessary, homage to the venue it has replaced - the cult dive bar Cafe Philo (RIP, sniffle). Dishes here are light, flavourful and designed for sharing, so bring your friends and order 2-3 items from the concise menu (plus daily specials) per person if you're here for more than a snack, as you socialise over several hours in the traditional Greek way (sigá-sigá - slow it down). That means not just sharing common dishes - choose from caramelised sweetbreads with Metaxa, a selection of dessert cheeses, beef kofta, squid, mackerel and more - but also a bottle of delicious Greek wine, or partaking in some Ouzo (the national liqueur) on ice. If you're looking for a bacchanalian night out with friends, or a romantic evening where acts as an aphrodisiac, FILO is a wise choice.
