Located some 145km away from Kraków at the eastern edge of Małopolska near Biecz, this wooden beauty in Binarowa dates back to around 1500 and is the second oldest church in the region. It was added to the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List in 2003 and the interiors are generally open to the public for free tours, though in winter you may need to call in advance: (+48) 692 385 244. Points of interest include a Gothic sculpture of the Virgin Mary, a 17th century Lent curtain and the bell tower that is dated to 1522.
