Few places could be more fitting for a French restaurant than the glorious ground floor of the historic Hotel Francuski (the Polish word for French), and this brasserie offers a fantastic opportunity for non-lodgers to experience the hotel's high society inter-war elegance. With a warm, textured Provençal interior, and concise menu of the classic culinary enticements that make French dining so popular worldwide (onion soup, duck confit, bouillabaisse, creme brulee), the quality of the food, service and presentation all seem to be conspiring to court a certain French tyre company. With every meal here feeling like a special occassion, we wouldn't be surprised to see them included in a red restaurant guide soon. That's not to say that you can't stop in here anytime and casually transport yourself to southern France. Lunch specials are offered on weekdays between 13:00 and 16:00, or drop in earlier for a delicious breakfast with fresh-baked breads, savoury spreads and homemade jams from the on-site patisserie. With big windows and sunny decor, Brasserie L'Olympique beckons with its warm, welcoming atmosphere. Répondez à l'appel!
