This cute Scandinavian cafe opens early, closes early, and is one of Kraków's most unique destinations for breakfast/brunch. Offering a range of sweet and savoury Nordic-style day-starters, choose from Scandi classics like the 'Tost Skagen' - buttered bread piled high with tiny prawns, dill, caviar and creme fraiche, or the 'Swedish Plate' - cream cheese, pickles, pickled onions and gravlax with fresh bread, a biscuit and jam. Handsomely served on classic Polish Bolesławiec tableware, with delicious coffee, tea or wine, the food feels like it came straight out of a lifestyle magazine, and the charming interior, with its timber ceiling and Sunday-morning soul soundtrack (no Abba!), does a great job of creating a cosy, hygge atmosphere. As a result, it can be a bit too popular with the monied mimosa crowd on weekends, but drop in on a weekday afternoon and you'll have the perfect place to write your children's book. Fans of the Scandinavian climate should note the small Swedish bakery (Kaffe Bageri Stockholm) around the corner (ul. Łobzowska 17), which serves delicious Swedish cinnamon buns. To find Astrid, look for the gnome and bright yellow exterior.
