This relative newcomer to one of Kraków's most ancient, romantic and exclusive streets wasted no time in establishing itself among the city's finest restaurants, winning a 2018 World Luxury Restaurant Award for best restaurant serving Polish Cuisine in the world. Such outrageous praise usually precedes disappointment, but Art Restaurant makes and sustains an immediate impression of splendour as you enter under an enormous crystal chandelier beneath which a pianist performs on a white grand piano. In warm weather enjoy the quiet courtyard garden full of plants and lanterns, which lighten the formality of the five-star, white-glove service; in winter the historical ambiance of the 16th century building suffices. The food is Polish at its most modern and innovative, with the creativity missing when the restaurant was named apparently put into the artistic dishes coming out of the kitchen. Among the menu's enticements you'll find caviar, oysters, foie gras, venison dumplings and Polish cheeses. The best way to experience Art is via a 6-course tasting menu (350zł), paired with wine from their exemplary cellar. Is this the best dining experience in town? If the question even bears pondering, and it does, then do yourself a favour, make a reservation, and decide for yourself.

Bristol We heard about this place and called for a reservation. The host said I'm sorry but there are no tables for tonight. My wife and I decided to try and walk in that evening anyway, and sure enough there were dozens of tables open and we were seated. Makes me wonder...
Ah yes, the dinner was wonderful. The venison was delicious.
