Little would visitors to present-day Kraków know that another river used to shape the city almost as much as the Polish queen of rivers, the mighty Vistula. The smaller but fierce Rudawa marked the boundaries of suburban districts, provided - and still provides - drinking water, powered water mills, fed the city moats, and frequently caused disastrous floods - for this last reason it was relegated to a series of artificial embankments which now strictly control its flow. This exhibition will feature many documents, blueprints, architectural drawings of bridges, and artefacts left behind by Kraków millers, tanners, and brewers.
