There was time, not long ago in fact, when we used to walk 20mins to Delecta, because it was the only decent restaurant between our abode and the river. Podgórze has developed immensely since then, but this trusty standby still has our affection. A warm, comfortable trattoria with wooden tables, spice garlands, a fireplace and a large pizza chef working in one corner, Delecta offers simple, affordable Italian and Polish food in an intimate setting without any heavy-handed formalities. There's a great kid's area, the pizzas are good, the smell of olive oil and rosemary hits you as soon as you walk in the door, and there have been times when we didn't want to leave.
