Cracovia Marathon

Sunday Apr 6 09:00–15:00       Rynek Główny

Poland's biggest, oldest and most international long distance running event, the Cracovia Marathon takes place each spring, and generally takes over the city centre for a day. The start and finish lines are both on the Main Square, and the route takes participants through the  city streets on both sides of the Vistula River and beyond, past many local landmarks. Not only can you use all that training, but it's also a great opportunity to interact with the locals and make your visit truly unique. Lace up your running shoes and put your stamina to the test!

Those who aren't participating in this event should note that the marathon basically takes over the city centre, creating real logistical problems for anyone trying to travel by tram or car, and even closing many streets to foot traffic. We advise avoiding the running route until the evening and giving yourself plenty of time to get wherever you're trying to go.
