Once a prominent arrow jutting out over Old Town and dating back to 1696, the original Lutheran church that stood on this site was damaged during the Second World War and thoughtfully pulled down by the Soviets after they reoccupied the city in 1945. A new church, in reality little more than a house with the same name, carries on the work of its predecessor. Stranding in front of the building is a small square where the original church stood, complete with several displays and information about how to make a financial contribution to the reconstruction of the original house of worship.
