In Stockholm, Sweden’s capital city, there is a perfectly ordinary apartment house on a perfectly ordinary street, with a small house tucked behind a chimney on the roof. It is a home for Karlsson, “a handsome, remarkably intelligent and moderately well-fed man in the prime of his life.” He is one of the main characters in the series of books by Swedish author Astrid Lindgren who had possibly lived in his neighbourhood and might have even met him on some occasions.

This boisterous little man has no wish to become adult one day and an irrepressible appetite for mischief. He is boredom-proof and has a million different ideas swarming in his head. Now he decided to learn to play the trumpet. Not only the trumpet – all the brass instruments at once! And what’s more: not only learn but also teach others!

We invite the most inquisitive minds among the 5-to-11-year-olds to attend the “Karlsson’s School” and see if this overconfident man is going to succeed in all his undertakings. In this new educational programme, presented by the Klaipėda Concert Hall, they will meet Karlsson impersonated by choreographer and dancer Aurelijus Liškauskas and members of the Klaipėda Brass Quintet. The semi-staged musical performance will be directed by Nerijus Gedminas. This fun and entertaining music lesson abounds in unexpected twists and pranks.

Dear children, mommies and daddies! No matter if you cannot play the trumpet or the trombone. Bring along everybody who have known Karlsson for years and especially those kids and grownups who haven’t heard about him before!
