As the name implies, the constantly evolving Castle Museum is set inside—and focuses on—the history of the centuries-old historical castle that was more or less destroyed towards the end of the 19th century. Among the current exhibits are several low-key affairs, brimming with old crockery, jewellery and other local historical oddities, the highly recommended Museum 39/45, an outdoor display showing the structure’s old foundations and a modern space for temporary exhibitions and the occasional concert.
Very well put together explanatory booklet for visitors. The castle is well worth a visit. Lovely Marina beside it and a short walk to the port. Displays are very well presented in the little space provided. A ten year project hass started to enhance the existing structure.Old parts of the castle are clearly visible and well preserved.About an hour to complete outside and inside tours.
