Perched on the rocky spur on the Trebeshina mountain slope overlooking town, the ruins of the Ali bej Këlcyra Sarajet house stand on top of much older foundations, dating back to the 4th century BCE and suspected to be the location of an Illyrian fortress. Expanded many times over the centuries, the sarajet was built in the 19th century with several four-story towers. It was destroyed by the Greeks in 1914 and has remained a ruin ever since. The views over Këlcyra and the Vjosa gorge are well worth the short hike up.
