This cash-strapped but fascinating gallery and museum houses a permanent exhibition of 20th-century Lithuanian and émigré art including a section on the third floor dedicated to the controversial Kaunas-born founder of the Fluxus movement George Maciunas (1931-1978), whose typically unconventional memorial square can be found just round the corner. There's also a busy programme of temporary exhibitions and public events, and the in-house bar is popular with local artists and media types. Take a wander through the Fluxus-inspired Black Hole if you're feeling brave.
