Costing an unbelievable €150,000, artist Giny Vos’ long overdue monument to the Dutch businessman, diplomat and Righteous Among the Nations Jan Zwartendijk (1896-1976) was finally unveiled in June 2018. Looking at its best when lit up at night, the untitled installation, that's already showing signs of wear and tear, supposedly represents hope and the lives that Zwartendijk and his Japanese counterpart Chiune Sugihara saved during the first Soviet occupation of Lithuania in 1940.
