The Sled Dogs! Hessen’s premier ice hockey team is the EC Kassel Huskies, although people have been skating and playing since the 19th century. The days on the frozen Fulda have been replaced by raucous nights in the Eissporthalle, and since its establishment in 1977 the club has bounced around the top tiers of German ice hockey. The club has been in the second tier since 2014 and the halcyon days of the mid ‘90s can often seem like a daydream, although a strong start to the 2019/20 season has got fans dreaming all over again.
