New Holland - Tradition since 1897 In 1897, Heinrich Hofmann opened his inn, which is documented by a permit to run an inn. In order to feed his family, the hired coachman Hofmann had opened up another source of income. Because the income for the contract transports with wood, hay or manure was not very bearable. The first restaurant was a mining canteen and was located above the current location. However, six years later, the restaurant that still exists today was built at Hüttenbergstraße 6. The name New Holland can be explained as follows: A certain Holland acted as the architect, and since the restaurant was "new" built on this site, the name is quite plausible.
