Currently open only for guided tours and special events, the Wilhelmshöhe ballroom’s somewhat mundane exterior hides something truly magnificent inside. Originally built in 1810 as a court theatre, the ballroom has undergone an incredible transformation in the centuries since, with that famous interior seemingly glowing brighter every passing year. It is a shame that it isn’t open for visitors more often, but there should be something a little exclusive about a ballroom, right?
