Located not far from where the River Lielupe flows into the Gulf of Riga in the Ragakāpa (Horn Dune) Nature Park, this museum was created to illustrate what life was like for Latvian fishermen in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Old wooden homes, anchors, ropes and fishing nets as well as antique boats are all on display for anyone who doesn’t mind the hike out this secluded spot. Occasionally, visitors can also taste local smoked fish brought in from the neighbouring village.
