It's a great place to stop for a quick coffee and a sandwich and to stock your pantry with their artisinal jams, spreads, oils, olives and spices. Their onsite bakery makes everything from sourdough to kitka, chelsea buns to apple strudels, and even freshly rolled pasta.
Yardbird collaborates with their neighbours at Glory (a longtime favourite of ours) to offer a weekend brunch, sandwich bar extravaganza. 'Glorybird' happens every Fri, Sat and Sun, 10:00 – 13:00 where you can choose from a selection of bánh mì sandwiches (Vietnamese baguette sandwiches filled with different and interesting savoury fillings). On the menu: coal-grilled pork shoulder, glory-fried chicken or fish, and smoked oyster mushroom bánh mì with an assortment of punchy condiments such as sesame oil mayo, fresh herbs, pickles and a chilli, lime and lemongrass salsa. They're all made to order and can be taken away or enjoyed next door at Glory.
