Blessing Ngobeni Art Prize fundraising auction

Making this auction especially noteworthy is the chance to bid for 13 new artworks by young contemporary artists, donated by the artists themselves to raise funds in support of this year's Blessing Ngobeni Art Prize.

Launched in 2016 by Joburg-based artist Blessing Ngobeni, this annual prize is a unique art award that aims to assist a young, emerging visual artist to launch their career. The winner of the award is provided with a 12-week artist studio residency in Joburg and the opportunity to present a solo exhibition at top gallery Everard Read.

Artists who have donated works to this special section of the Winter Collection sale include Teresa Firmino, Percy Maimela, Azael Langa, Themba Khumalo, Asanda Kuper and Blessing Ngobeni himself.
