Bryanston Market is Joburg's original outdoor market, in existence for more than 40 years and still offering a superb range of organic goods and products in a relaxed environment. From arts and crafts and health and wellness products to preservative-free and colourant-free home-baked goods, crystals, dreamcatchers and hammocks, this is a very chilled space to spend a Thursday morning with not a hipster in sight.

The market supports dozens of talented crafters and artisans who are skilled in traditional techniques such as metalwork, woodcarving, weaving and leatherwork and there is arguably no finer selection of unique handcrafted souvenirs to be found in Joburg. For lunch try the sweet or savoury crepes at La Cuisine du Jardin, vegan soul food from Organic Leaves, gluten-free South Indian dosas from Meera’s and for organic Fair Trade coffee there's Bettina’s Café. 

The market is open Thursday 09:00-15:00. The market is also open Saturday 09:00-15:00 and on Saturdays usually hosts arts and crafts activities for kids and live music entertainment.
