If you have time to travel further afield visit The Victorian Secret Artisan Bakery and Patisserie in Benoni (a 30 minute drive from Johannesburg city centre) where you can enjoy high tea with perfectly crustless cucumber and cream cheese sandwiches plus a selection of pastries, breakfasts and light lunches, all beautifully served. The Victorian Secret occupies a building once known as Tait House, one of the finest examples of late Victorian architecture in eastern Gauteng and high tea can be enjoyed in the cosy antique-filled dining room or outside in the tea garden.
