Remember Youth Day and celebrate the freedoms of democratic South Africa at Roving Bantu Kitchen's Youth Day Festival in Brixton. The day kicks off from 12:00 with a pop-up market and at 14:00 the Brixton Fietas Heritage Trek sets off to explore the neighbourhood's remarkable history (costs R250 per person, free for youth and students).

After the trek the festival continues back at the Roving Bantu Kitchen and the adjoining Brixton Beach Bar with an eclectic evening of live jazz, hip hop and acoustic African sounds and delicious Afro-soul food. Musicians performing live include ZEN Groove Collective, T.U.G hip hop, Clayton Human, Madala Kunene and Joshua Beachey.
