The Jozi Kota Festival

Saturday Apr 2

Indulge in authentic South African street food and township cuisine as the popular Soweto Kota Festival returns this April. Similar to the bunny chow, a Kota is a township sandwich made from a hollowed-out quarter bread loaf filled with a variety of meats, chips, cheeses and pickles.

Bringing together the best local Kota chefs, The Jozi Kota Festival presents any form of Kota you can imagine from Kota with mince to the classic Kota with chips and even Kota mash. Grab a beer and jam along with live music and DJs playing through the day.

The festival takes place at The Station in Newtown. Bring along your mates, camp chairs, and of course an empty stomach! Tickets are available online here.
