The fourth annual Human Rights Festival takes place over the Human Rights Day public holiday weekend from March 19 to 21 on the grounds of the historic Constitution Hill. Making this edition extra special, the festival coincides with the 25th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of South Africa.

This free festival celebrates South Africa's innate spirit of activism with public lectures, a poetry festival, film screenings, live music, and workshops aimed at organisations involved in social justice and human rights issues. In particular this year's festival highlights the importance of community and looks at how we can make South Africa a better place, encouraging attendees to reflect on what they as individuals are doing to contribute to a just society for all.

Festival programme highlights include performances by Solidarity Express, Ms. Party and the legendary Vusi Mahlasela on March 20 and performances by Solace Can and Tshepang Ramoba (from the BLK JKS) on March 19. On March 21 visitors can join in free tours of the Constitution Hill museums.
