Inspired by Arthur Miller’s The Crucible this play illustrates how gossip and superstition can fiercely capture the mind of a people. The play is set in a courtroom where a case is being heard about a child who has gone missing in the village. Through storytelling and myth building the courtroom becomes the metaphorical fireside as community members weave tales, myths and stories in their desperate search for answers.

This show takes place as part of the Wits Theatre's 969 Festival, a selection of the best theatre, dance and music productions from the 2017 National Arts Festival in Grahamstown (which is 969km from Joburg). See the full 969 Festival programme here.
