The fun and romance of drive-in cinemas is back again at Sandton City, in partnership with Ster Kinekor, transforming the huge Sandton City rooftop car park into a drive-in cinema. Opening just in time for the fourth wave in Gauteng, it's the perfect way to get out of the house and get into the festive spirit while maintaining social distancing.

The Christmas Edition of the City Drive-In runs from December 9 to 19. Films on the line-up include Christmas classics such as Elf, Home Alone, Love Actually, The Grinch and Die Hard. Recent cinematic releases are also on the bill including Fast & Furious 9, Peter Rabbit 2 and Cruella.

The cinema runs as a cashless and contactless drive-in. Buy your tickets online via Quicket in advance (you can also order snacks and refreshments when you book or pick up takeaways from the mall food court), drive up and find a good parking spot. Sound will be provided through your car stereo and there's a small concession stand at the drive-in should you run out of popcorn too soon.
