Presented by POPArt and Robaby Productions, under the direction of Toni Morkel and starring Lisa Derryn-Overy, Kyla Davis and Roberto Pombo, The Agents presents a trio of mischievous performers who delve into the cut-throat world of property development, gentrification and fancy estate living – a must-see for anyone who loves a spicy, laugh-out-loud cringefest.

“As illuminating as it is amusing,” writer and editor David Mann talks about his experience of the play in Makhanda: “Seemingly a play about a trio of overzealous and shameless real estate agents, the play unravels a slow approach to a certain end – our burning planet. The Agents, along with the security vultures and attack dogs that follow them, keep peddling new properties, upgraded facilities, increased levels of safety and quality of life. All the while, the world around them grows smaller, darker, increasingly without air, food, and water. It is a superb gut punch, delivered at the end of a fast and furious performance by the trio… I sincerely hope it travels.”
Thankfully the theatre gods listened and the show is set to entertain Joburg audiences with its absurd theatrical humour this October.
