Join Soweto-based cycling tour company Book iBhoni on Saturday December 1 for the inaugural Soweto Bicycle Fest – a festive day of outdoor cycling fun to kick off the holiday season. The Soweto Bicycle Fest has a full line-up of activities for all ages including races, kids games, two-wheeler tours of Soweto and of course food and drink and a lively atmosphere.

The day starts with registration at 09:00 for a 09:30 20km bicycle ride around Soweto, led by local cycling professionals (you must bring your own bicycle and helmet). For a more leisurely activity, from 10:00 join Book iBhoni founder Mpumelelo Mtintso for a guided group tour around the historical sites of Soweto (bicycles and helmets are provided as part of the tour fee, tours every three hours). From 12:00, kids activities, fun relay races and an entertaining slow race – where the last one to roll across the finish line wins! – commence, with exciting surprise prizes at stake.

In line with Book iBhoni's mission to give back to the Soweto community, there will be cycling Santas at the festival who will be accepting donations of gently used toys to give to local children's homes.

Contact Mpumelelo Mtintso from Book iBhoni to register for the morning ride or guided tour - call +27 61 371 9013 or email info@bookibhoni.co.za.
