The South African Ballet Theatre Trust’s 2020 Joburg fundraiser brings together ballet, birdlife and the beautiful gardens of the 208-hectare The Country Club Johannesburg in Woodmead. The special charity event is in aid of the Joburg Ballet company, one of Africa's few professional ballet companies, whose Joburg performances are always must-visit occasions.

The event begins with a guided bird spotting walk through the club’s vast parkland followed by burgers, ice-creams and a live performance in the grounds by dancers from the Joburg Ballet (a cash bar is also available). Matching with the day's avian theme the ballet programme includes extracts from Swan Lake, The Firebird and The Sleeping Beauty.

It is recommended that you bring comfortable shoes for the walk and camp chairs or blankets if you'd like to sit and relax on the club's manicured lawns.
