Slow Food Serengeti Eat-In

Watch some of Joburg's top chefs including <a href="https://www.inyourpocket.com/johannesburg/onenineone_130199v">Shaneil Dinna of the Hyatt Regency</a>, Shane Smit of Jamie's Italian, Matthew Foxon from 54 on Bath and <a href="http://test.inyourpocket.com/johannesburg/the-federal_147328v">James Diack of Coobs fame</a>, cooking up delicious dishes made from South African Nguni meat at this special Slow Food event. The Nguni cow has been registered by the Slow Food movement as an 'Ark of taste breed', a label attached to foods that have cultural significance. The event promotes respect for animals by encouraging the use of all parts of the animal, from nose-to-tail, and visitors have the opportunity to taste dishes made with all parts of the Nguni cow, including offal dishes.<br /> <br /> At this edition of the Eat In there is also live music and an 'Earth Market' with 40 Slow Food producers showcasing and selling their produce including organic vegetables and charcuterie, chicken and eggs. Nguni artwork, hides and clothing are also on sale.<br /> <br /> Tickets include five coupons which can be used for Nguni beef dishes and one coupon for an offal dish, as well as a one year membership for the Slow Food organisation. Tickets for kids cost R75 and include a Nguni beef burger, hand-cut fries and a juice.
