SMAC Gallery in Parkhurst presents the latest solo exhibition by renowned South African painter Simon Stone, whose long career spans some four decades. Created in 2020 this new body of works was acutely shaped by the experience of the Covid-19 lockdown and extended isolation. Stone's work has always been highly influenced by travel, something which was off the cards in South African in 2020. In addition to dreams of travel and exotic locals, these works are also richly populated by his own imagination and each complex painting reveals many layers of details and an eye for the absurd and unusual.
