Visit the pre-auction exhibition at the Russell Kaplan showroom
You can view the items under the hammer at the auction house showroom in the Bram Fischer Centre in Ferndale, Randburg. We highly recommend visiting the showroom to get a sense of the size and scale of the items included in the sale. It's also a fun experience, with all manner of curious antiques, period furniture, and striking artworks filling every possible available space.The 2024 Winter auction runs from Thu, Jul 18 – Sun, Jul 21 (Sessions 1–4), and Tue, Jul 23 – Sun, Jul 28 (Sessions 5–14). There are more than 6,000 lots to bid on, and these are ready to browse. Look out for special items, including 17th-century Chinese objects and Egyptian antiquity. This particular edition has an incredible array of fine collectables.

How to bid in an online Russell Kaplan auction
Pre-bids can be placed online in advance of the sale and then the bidding is hosted live online over several days. Registration to bid opens before the auction online at rkauctioneers.co.za, where you can already submit pre-bids ahead of the live sale. Once you register and place any bid it confirms your agreement with Russell Kaplan Auctioneers. All bids are binding and irrevocable. The bidding room software records registrations and bids made by means of a date and time stamp The highest bidder shall be the successful purchaser and is bound by Russell Kaplan Auctioneers terms and conditions of sale. Should your live bid match that of an absentee bid, the bid will automatically be awarded to the absentee bidder being the first in time. You will be prompted by the system to make a counter-bid. The purchase price is the hammer price achieved at auction for a given lot, in addition to which a buyer’s premium of 15% is added, along with a VAT amount of 15% of the buyer’s premium. The buyer is responsible for all collection, transport, and packaging costs relating to your purchases.
