The Red Bull Box Cart Race is a global event for amateur drivers racing homemade soapbox crafts, that takes place in more than 100 cities around the world. Each hand-made machine is fuelled purely by creativity (and gravity of course) and racers are challenged to design and build the wackiest, human-powered soapbox dream machines they can think of.

This year's event sees 80 teams racing their carts down the steep incline of Sandton Drive. Teams are judged on speed, creativity and showmanship and this year's judges include Proteas fast bowler Kagiso Rabada. 

The race area is set up on Sandton Drive between Alice Lane and Grayston Drive.
