Razor Charlie Latin Eatery
Enter the doorway into a courtyard area with overhanging lights, plenty of lush greenery, and cosy seating nooks and you'll be transported to a quirky Latin-inspired hideaway complete with signature Talavera tiles, a wall of nichos altar boxes, and vibrantly coloured furniture and artefacts. It's an Instagrammers dream.
While the cocktail hour is deeply respected here, we are great fans of Razor Charlie's Mexican-inspired menu of breakfast dishes which includes their breakfast burrito and huevos a la mexicana (scrambled eggs, tomato and chilli) and tasty nacho bowls. The sandwiches and salads menu has lots of variety and plenty of zingy flavours. The Mexi-Corn salad of mixed peppers, red onion, black beans, corn and avocado is a standout.
For the more hungry the mains, served from 11:30, include a chimichurri stripped rump steak and a range of quesadillas, chicken or steak tacos.
For afternoon drinks try the Mexican Negroni or the Gin & Sin, take a seat on a comfortable couch and you will be forgiven for dreaming that you are somewhere south of the border (the other south).
The restaurant adjoins the treasure of trove of African artefacts, craft and decor pieces Amatuli, a great place for a postprandial browse if you are there in daylight.
