From the Kalahari to the Karoo, the great expanse comes to The Troyeville on Sun, Jul 7 with South African folk band Radio Kalahari Orkes and DJ Karoo.

Fronted by actor Ian Roberts, award-winning outfit Radio Kalahari Orkes (RKO) blends Cape Malay, traditional Afrikaans, Latin, and anything else found along the gravel road in their unique musical style. The lyrics are rooted firmly in the present, backed by old acoustic instruments spanning violin, guitars, harmonica, bass, kazoo, and even the penny whistle.

The doors open at The Troyeville at 13:00, while the band starts at 15:00 on Sun, Jul 7. A full bar and food menu from The Troyeville's excellent restaurant will be on offer before and during the show. Enjoy this musical performance with sweeping views of the Joburg skyline; make sure to bring along something warm as the venue is outdoors, and temperatures may get chilly. Entrance is R200 p.p and booking is essential; buy your tickets here.

Note: Security personnel are stationed at both The Troyeville's front and back entrances. Safe parking is available on Wilhelmina Street, located at the rear of the hotel. The front entrance is perfect for Uber, Bolt, and taxi drop-offs and collections.
