Nelson Mandela Square
For lunch or dinner choose from classic steaks at The Butcher Shop, seafood and sushi at The Big Mouth and elegant bistro dining at Tashas, a classy cafe with excellent service and a flawless menu. The flashiest place to be seen is at Tang, a fashionable modern Asian restaurant and Champagne bar overlooking the square, a buzzing place to taste Joburg’s high life (make sure to look the part and dress up before heading here).
Inside the mall you can find an array of high street and high-end fashion and jewellery shops and the entrances to the neighbouring Sandton City and Michelangelo Towers malls. Major department stores and brands to look out for include the Hamley's toy shop, Presidential Shirts, a small boutique selling the colourful silk shirts that were much loved by the late Nelson Mandela, and for colourful crafts and souvenirs there's Out of Africa.
Get there with the Gautrain: Nelson Mandela Square is a five minute walk from the Sandton Gautrain station.
