Joburg hosts its first-ever edition of Museum Night, with six leading Joburg museums opening their doors for an evening of art exhibitions, workshops, performances, concerts, talks and other cultural activities that highlight the important collections that these institutions maintain. Participating museums include Apartheid Museum, Constitution Hill, Johannesburg Art Gallery, Johannesburg Holocaust & Genocide Centre, Wits Art Museum and the Origins Centre.

Events on the Museum Night programme include the launch of a huge new exhibition - The Art of Comics - at Johannesburg Art Gallery, guided tours of Constitution Hill by night and storytelling under the stars at the Old Fort, guided walkabouts of the latest exhibitions at Wits Art Museum and a free screening of the film The Accountant of Auschwitz at the Johannesburg Holocaust and Genocide Centre.
