The legendary guitarist Madala Kunene, a musical anthropologist, popularly known for his jazz and Zulu folk-blues plays The Mangrove in Braamfontein with his friend in music, self-taught guitarist, composer and arranger Lerato Lichaba.

Together the pair are joined by young guest artists Mahoyana Nkwanyana (vocals and guitar) and Gontse Makhene (drums), treating the audience to the language of music in one of Joburg's most intimate new music venues. Supporting the gig is DJ Kush Khoza spinning a vinyl set to set the mood. The Mangrove also has an elegant food menu so we recommend arriving early to enjoy dinner with your music.
