Fine artist and hairstylist, Lebohang Motaung's first solo exhibition, Hairoines, takes place at Lizamore & Associates' Firestation Gallery (next to Casquette Cycling Cafè).
The exhibition is a celebration of the myriad of ways of self-expression, identity and care which can be found in the way women do their hair with the artist saying, "My mission has always been more than making women beautiful. I am committed through my vocations to espouse and instil a sense of confidence and contentment; at the same time reflective of their subjectivities and agencies necessary to confront vicious shaming, stereotypes and insults."
Exhibition opens Sat, Apr 15 from 11:00 to 13:00. Wine will be served.
