This December 26 Constitution Hill presents the 16th annual South African Kwanzaa Celebrations which promises to be a day of great food and music that is perfect for all the family. Held under the theme 'Preparing for Afrika’s Future today', this year's Kwanzaa Celebrations also includes a programme of poetry recitals and inspirational talks. Kwanzaa was created by African-American professor and Pan-Africanism activist Maulana Karenga as an American celebration that honours African heritages in African-American culture. Kwanzaa is traditionally celebrated from December 26 to January 1 and ends with gift-giving and a feast.
