This December 26 Constitution Hill presents the 16th annual South African Kwanzaa Celebrations which promises to be a day of great food and music that is perfect for all the family. Held under the theme 'Preparing for Afrika’s Future today', this year's Kwanzaa Celebrations also includes a programme of poetry recitals and inspirational talks. Jam along to the live music performances, browse African crafts, books and clothes from all over the continent in the Kwanzaa market and feast on delicious pan-African cuisine.

Kwanzaa was created by African-American professor and Pan-Africanism activist Maulana Karenga as an American celebration that honours African heritages in African-American culture. Kwanzaa is traditionally celebrated from December 26 to January 1 and ends with gift-giving and a feast.
