This KAMERS/Makers market also features the KM ART concept in Gauteng, which brings together dozens of fine artists in a special gallery space to showcase accessible and affordable art on sale. We love this idea.
This year marks KAMERS/Makers' 21st birthday. A milestone for the market started with 34 local artisans selling their products at a small Christmas gift bazaar in a private home in Stellenbosch. A feel-good success story, this unique showcase has grown to become a thriving market with six national shows that highlight the work of more than 300 makers and reach over 60,000 shoppers each year. To date, KAMERS/Makers has featured more than 2,000 South African artisan makers and has directly launched over 50 brands that have become successful local businesses.
A special element to KAMERS/Makers is that no imported products are permitted, meaning every rand you spend at the market stays in South Africa, circulating in the local economy, creating jobs, and fuelling communities. It's an initiative that has succeeded from an entrepreneurial vision backed by shoppers who proudly support local.
This bumper market offers everything from fashion and jewellery to art and homeware. This time around, KAMERS/Makers will again be held at Steyn City. Apart from shopping for the best local products and designs, you can look forward to a diverse and delicious selection of artisanal food, boutique wines, and craft spirits.
Don't miss out on this vibrant shopping extravaganza from Thu, Aug 29 – Sun, Sep 1 at Steyn City.
