Under the expert guidance of Alkis Doucakis, who has spent years researching the area's rich history, the tour takes a walk through New Doornfontein and the adjoining Maboneng Precinct revealing many secrets hidden beneath the area's recently regenerated facade. Highlights of the tour include a chance to see unusual relics of Joburg's industrial history, lesser known places of worship such as the American Zulu Church and the new architectural landmark Hallmark House, designed by world famous British-Ghanaian architect David Adjaye.<br /> <br /> The tour starts at the corner of Beacon Street and Staib Street in Maboneng.
