Coinciding with Women's Month in South Africa, the Gerard Sekoto Gallery at the Alliance Francaise hosts an exciting photography exhibition showcasing the work of the 2018 laureates selected by the International Women Photographers Award (IWPA). The annual competition is open to women photographers from all over the world and aims to provide a platform for women photographers to gain global recognition for their work and to exhibit to wider and more diverse audiences with the support of the IWPA.

The 11 featured photographers hail from as far afield as Iran and Argentina, Taiwan and Sweden and include two South African photographers; Manyatsa Monyamane, who celebrates the strength and elegance of South Africa's elderly people and Alice Mann, whose captivating series on Cape Town drum majorettes also won her the 2018 Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize.
