Once described as “the dark prince of South African pop (art)”, Murray is known for his distinctive large-scale steel sculptures and his memorable paintings which have occasionally courted controversy for their biting political critique and the way in which they poke fun at South Africa's imperfect transition to democracy. In his latest exhibition, Hide, Murray turns his attentions inward, revealing in his artwork the intimacy of his home and the comforts of family life.
