Starting at the Hillbrow Theatre and ending at the historic Windybrow Arts Centre, the Hey Hillbrow! Let’s Dlala! Festival is a colourful display of performance, dance and music taking place in the streets of Hillbrow. The brainchild of the late public art activist Lesley Perkes, the festival starts with a costume dress-up and face painting session at the Hillbrow Theatre and a community procession through Hillbrow's street with different art activities happening along the route.
