Joburg’s original artisanal halaal food and design market, the pop-up Halaal Goods Market, returns to The Fox, in the Fox Street Precinct, in the city. Expect more than 90 stalls, food trucks, and mocktail bars taking part and offering everything from gourmet food to chic modest clothing, handmade crafts and natural beauty products.

Market founder Fehmida Jordaan was inspired to start her own market after constant frustration about the lack of halaal food options while visiting local markets. The Halaal Goods Market is the first artisanal halaal food and design market in Southern Africa with a curated selection of locally sourced halaal offerings.

Build your own feast with the widest variety of Halaal certified foodstalls serving everything from tacos and Greek seafood to pancakes, ice-cream, smoked meats, bunny chows, boerie rolls, koeksisters, Middle Eastern dips and delicious Indian sweetmeats. The Halaal Goods Market is child-friendly, with space for kids to run around and play and lots of attractive gifts that will appeal to the little ones.
