The Nelson Mandela Foundation host a launch for the new book Dare Not Linger: The Presidential Years. The book details Nelson Mandela’s presidency, drawing heavily from Mandela’s unfinished memoir written while he prepared to finish his term of office.

Commonwealth Writer’s Prize-winner Mandla Langa completes Mandela's story, using the original unfinished memoir manuscript and drawing heavily on the detailed notes that Mandela had made as events happened, as well as utilising other previously unseen archival material.

Mandela’s widow and the former first lady of Mozambique Graça Machel has also contributed her own thoughts to the book, turning Dare Not Linger into a vivid account of a crucial moment in South African history as the country went about creating a new democracy.

The book launch includes a discussion between renowned South African poet Barbara Masekela and Mandla Langa, an exhibition of never-before-seen photographs by award-winning British-South African photographer Keith Bernstein and the event ends with a performance by Standard Bank Jazz Artist for 2006 Concord Nkabinde.
