Creative Research is a new exhibition at WAM's Jack Ginsberg Centre for Book Arts exploring the artist books of Veronika Schäpers, Robbin Ami Silverberg and Julie Chen.

Schäpers is a German artist who creates sensual books from a wide range of materials which explore visual and tactile textures. Canadian-born Silverberg creates dense, almost sculptural books as part of her research into paper as an artistic medium. Chen is an American artist whose book-making asks what is a book and in doing so Chen gives meaning to her everyday experiences.

Each of these three artists uses the book in different ways to drive their artistic practices and research. The exhibition is a fascinating insight into how they explore the personal, cultural, material and language, and create meaning. Be amazed by their intricate books from Thu, Sep 22 to Thu, Dec 15.

The Jack Ginsberg Centre for Book Arts is open to the public from Tuesday to Friday, from 10:00 – 16:00.
