Restaurants and bars in Braamfontein are always popular amongst students for their location (the University of Witwatersand is on the doorstep), as well as relatively affordable food and drink specials. 

Cheeky's Street Bar on De Beer Street is no different. With drink specials like buckets of ciders or beers for R150, and a menu boasting casual foods that include chicken wings, burgers, hot dogs, and loaded fries, this a go-to spot for a good time.

What makes it even harder to leave is that plenty of games are available, like Uno, 30 Seconds, and Jenga, which can be played anytime but take on a life of their own on Games Nights, every Thursday. Cheeky's Street Bar also offers curated events, hosts guest DJs and sports screenings, including Formula One, making this spot a supremely social destination. It's not surprising that Cheeky's has become a casual hangout den in the city.

On Sundays, Streets Friends kick off their cycling rides across the city from Cheeky's at 10:00 with everyone invited to join. Bring your own bike or rent one (R200).
